Yamaha Sounds of Summer Marching Percussion Camp

On May 29th and 30th Art’s Music Shop, Yamaha, and Opelika Middle School will be hosting a Sounds of Summer Marching percussion camp featuring Bret Kuhn. This is an excellent way for junior high school and high school marching percussionist to improve there skills. Camp is open for all 7th thru 12th grade students interested. Campers will receive top notch instruction from national and local clinicians. Price for camp is $50.00. This includes lunch (both days), t-shirt, book, etc.SOS 2013 Flyer. International Guitar Month

Guitarists, don’t fret! April is noted for rain and fluctuating temperatures. Although this time of year can wreak havoc on the wood and metal of an instrument, it’s also when we are itching to get outdoors, enjoy music festivals and demonstrate an unfettered license to play our instruments…wherever we may go. It’s International Guitar Month and you deserve to get your guitar strings, frets and boards back to peak playing condition!

Bring your reputable guitar by any Art’s Music Shop and ask about our string change service, set-up and any number of other stringed instrument services. If you bought from us, you already know the drill. Come sit for a spell while we wish you and your guit-fiddle well!

Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra Announces November Concert

The Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra in concert with the John Carroll High School Choir, conducted by Lee Wright, will perform this Sunday, November 4th at 5:00 pm. The concert will be held at Bluff Park United Methodist Church and will include works by Rossini, Gounod, Schubert, Mendelssohn and A Capella Works by the John Carroll Mixed Ensemble.

Homewood Drum Major Maggie Williams Named All-American

We love reporting good news! Drum Major Maggie Williams of Homewood High School’s Marching Band was recently named to the 2013 U.S. Army’s All-American Band and will perform at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on January 5th, 2013. Congratulations Maggie!
